What drew us to jade

Each piece has its own character.

Mandalay Jade is a husband-and-wife business based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, specializing in genuine, natural Type A Jadeite sourced from Myanmar.

The uniqueness of jade fascinates us most. No two pieces are exactly alike because they are formed by nature rather than made in a factory. Each stone has its own combination of color, pattern and natural detail, revealed as the jade is cut and polished.

That is what makes choosing jade feel personal. A piece does not need to fit one narrow definition of perfection to be beautiful—it needs to have character, honesty, and something that speaks to the person who will wear it.

Buying jade should feel exciting, not confusing.

A clearer alternative

Honest jade, clearly described.

Jade is one of the world’s most beautiful and culturally important gemstones, but it can also be difficult to buy with confidence. Treatments are common, quality varies enormously, and terms like “natural,” “Grade A,” and “Imperial” are often used inconsistently.

We built Mandalay Jade to offer a clearer alternative. Every piece we sell is natural, untreated Type A Jadeite from Myanmar. We select our jade piece by piece for its color, character, craftsmanship, and overall beauty, and we aim to describe it honestly and photograph it clearly so you can understand what you are buying.

Natural Type A Jadeite

No dye, chemical bleaching, or polymer impregnation. Traditional surface waxing may be present.

Chosen one by one

Jade does not have to look only one way.

Some of our necklaces and bracelets are also hand-assembled by us here in Chiang Mai, giving those pieces a more personal finishing touch.

We also believe genuine jade should be accessible. Our Jadeite is offered at fair prices without the luxury markups often attached to fine jade.

Some pieces are vivid green and translucent. Others are lavender, white, grey, icy, mottled, or deeply textured. We do not believe jade has to fit one narrow definition of perfection to be beautiful.

Here when you need us

Questions are always welcome.

We welcome questions and special requests. If you’re looking for a particular piece that isn’t currently in our collection, feel free to contact us. We may be able to help source the jade you’re looking for at a fair price.

Our goal is simple: to make genuine Burmese Jadeite easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to enjoy for years to come.
